How much does personal care cost?

Financing personal care varies depending on the office involved. For further information and to receive a personalised quote

In a few circumstances personal care can be funded. It’s a good idea to talk to your local council or Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to see if you might be entitled to financial support with personal care.

Arranging a carer's assessment

A carer’s assessment is designed to see what might help make your life easier. It’s a chance to discuss your needs with your local council so they can decide how best to support you. If they feel you need support they’ll work with you to put together a care plan, which might include using respite services. Your loved one should also have a needs assessment, which is organised through their local council so extra support can be arranged if appropriate.

Financial assessment

If you or your loved one are found to need support, your local council will carry out a financial assessment to discover what you can afford to pay. If you are eligible for financial support to pay for personal care, your local council can arrange these services for you or you can choose to receive direct payments and arrange personal care privately.
You may qualify for funding and it's possible that you or your family member may not need to pay anything at all.

Introducing Hami Care personal care services

Our approach to personal care is based on understanding your or your loved one’s personal needs, preferences and values, so that we can provide support that retains as much independence as possible.

What is personal care and what kind of activities does it cover?

Personal care covers activities that relate to maintaining personal appearance and hygiene, including toileting, dressing and grooming support.

Providing tailored personal care

We can provide personal care with all our short or long-term home care services. Here we run through a few of them to give you an idea of the kind of services we can combine our personal care with, depending on your or your loved one’s needs:

Live-in care: ongoing daily and nighttime support in your or your friend or relative's own home.
PatchCare services: designed to combat loneliness and help clients enjoy more regular, tailored visits throughout the day.
Dementia care: tailored support for those living with dementia.
Respite care: Caremark carers can visit you or your loved one’s home to give the main carer a break away from their day-to-day duties, enabling them to recharge and revive.
Companionship care: companionship and friendship at a time when it is most needed.
Home from hospital: practical and rehabilitation support for you or your loved one after a hospital stay.
